So...Yesterday was the Clarkston Invitational. Wow was that a fun comp!! It was freezing (I felt sooo bad for the color guard!) At practice earlier that day I was with the woodwinds...cuz i don't know squat about brass instruments...so yea...and I totally quoted Mr Holland's Opus, and I felt really dumb, but whatever I said must have worked cuz on the performance at practice, I got goosebumps! Then at the comp...ooooh...It was sooo much fun standing up there...knowing how awesome we had just done. Then awards...omg I was soooooooo mad!!!! So Jon and I got undressed to go and get some food...yea so the line was like...long...and people kept on cutting, and once we were up there, I asked Jon what time it was, and it was 9:20, and we had to be ready by 9:30...so we had to get out of line and go get dressed again...so I was starving...and then we came back out for awards, and then we made an arc...wow...yea...you would think that drum majors could handle such a minute task...but wow...we looked dumb, so then the announcer was like...we don't have all the score sheets...so we all just kinda stood on the field for a little bit, and then we started doing the wave, which was really interesting...that had never happened to me before, but it was really fun...then finally awards started. When flight one came up I told Jon and Kristyn to grab their capes cuz I figured we would get 5th, cuz...chippewa is always last, and we wanted to do our long salute when we went up there...so the announcer said "in fifth place with a score of 60.whatever...NOT CHIPPEWA VALLEY" (he didn't actually say that, but thats what my mind heard) so I had Jon and Kristyn drop their capes and we did our "1-2" salute, then I was like ok we got 4th, grab your capes and then the announcer was like "in fourth place with a score of 62.whatever...NOT CHIPPEWA VALLEY" and I was all excited and I made a bunch off "oooo" sounds and we did the "1-2" again, and then the announcer said "and in THIRD place with a score of 63.8......dramatic pause......CHIPPEWA VALLEY" and so we got the award yada yada yada awards ended yada yada yada we went back to the room yada yada yada, and cuz I had gloves on, I asked Carissa what it felt like (the trophy) and she was like "IT FEELS REAL" and she was all excited and was like "and we didn't win this one by default!!" and I laughed..and that was yesterday...and then today i had to work in clearance...but i got to listen to my music, so it wasn't all that bad. then jackie and alyse came to visit me (and to "borrow" money) so that was my day, and now I'm waiting for kayla to come and bring over these stupid papers for college writing...then i have homework to do...yippee
